MEET YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER

HEY, IT'S COURTNEY!

Hopefully, your soon to be photographer turned friend. If you had asked me ten years ago if I ever thought I would become a photographer I probably would've said no. Photography was truly a happy accident in my life and not something I ever intentionally sought out to explore. Funny enough... I actually have my ex-boyfriend to thank for that one (more about that at another time haha!) But what I've always loved about photography and what has always brought me back to the art was that every aspect of being a photographer touches on a core value in my life. Photography has truly been a bridge in my life, connecting me to lost parts of myself while also connecting me to others. Spending my days meeting new people, getting to hear their stories and then use my skills to artistically capture the essence of those stories... is a dream come true. So thank you for being a part of that dream and I look forward to helping make your photography dreams come true...

Once a storyteller... always a storyteller.

Ever since I was a little girl I was drawn to stories... and now my favorite part of my job is getting to know my clients personally and getting to be the one who tells their story. For me being a photographer is about so much more than taking pictures. Photography is the way I give others insight into their own world, give them eyes to see what they can't see on their own... to show them the love they share from the outside-in. It's the greatest honor and I'm so thankful to be able to spend my days getting to know so many amazing people like YOU!

DESCRIBING MY STYLE

CINEMATIC - makes you feel like you're the main character in your favorite movie...

ARTISTIC - beautifully notices the little details like that wisp of hair he pulls behind your ear or the raindrop that fell on your cheek mid-session...

DOCUMENTARY-FOCUSED - less posing and more action, allows you to spend time with your loved ones naturally without feeling like it's a photoshoot and you're a model...

EDITORIAL FLAIR- uniquely captured photos that give the bold essence of a Vogue catalog...

TIMELESS - not focused on trends - focused on capturing and editing photos that will reflect the memory as accurately as you remember it...

Sentimental moments of the flower girl captured through cinematic photography at this summer wedding in Northern Virginia.

ROMANTIC - sweetly captures the emotions you felt and gives you butterflies all over again...

INSPIRATIONAL - showcases the kind of life, love, confidence, etc. you wish to have...

AUTHENTIC - leaves you saying, "Wow that's really me." Capturing pictures that look AND feel like you...

CREATIVE - bringing one-of-a-kind prompts and design to your session crafted around your story...

MOODY - evokes all the emotions good and bad felt in an given moment, notices the shadows on your face and the happy tear on your cheek...

Decorating my apartment (I'm a wannabe Joanna Gaines girly)...

Puttering in my kitchen with Hulu playing in the background (my typical weekend activity)...

Too much spontaneity (I'm a type A girly most of the time)...

Long-Distance Friendships (why can't all my besties and I just live in the woods together?)...

Social Media (between the algorithm and how hard it is to not get stuck comparing yourself to others, ugh)...

Bad coffee shops (I have an entire rating system for coffee shops ex; paper straws = bad, cinnamon to add into your drink = good, consistently good coffee = really good, etc.)

Body shaming

Church bands that can't sing (I'm sorry but... no)
